spring outing

i had a very entertaining day last saturday (brian and david were hanging around but, fortunately spent most of their time talking with the friends sheila and roger) leaving my cousin, buttons hippo (who, you may remember, went to live with s & r) , to have a good time playing amongst some huge plants in the garden at a place called great dixter...

Jungle Chums (2)
...and playing knights-in-armour (but without the armour, obviously) at bodiam castle...

Hiding!
It turns out, however, that climbing on the ruins (it was, by the way, in ruins before we got there) is not allowed...

I enjoyed our day out, coz - always good to see you. It's good to have a congenial companion on these occasions which would otherwise be extremely boring with just Roger & Sheila tagging along. It's a shame you had to leave before I finished my story about the amazing effects of those giant leaves on the Limpopo crocodiles...

"Climbing on ruins" not allowed?
By whom pray.
Buttons never climbs, anyway, he hops . . . he flies . . . he is present . . . never clambering or climbing.

yes, buttons hippo, it was a very jolly day, and although i left before you told me about the limpopo crocs, i feel as if i'd heard the story before somewhere. can't think why...

i do hope hippolyta wasn't too miffed about getting left behind...

david - exactly what i tried to convey to the people who put buttons hippo and i in the stocks. all very regrettable, but the price of being an original in a world of mediocrity!

It was great to have my favourite Rabbit come all that way to pay little me a visit. And don't worry about leaving me behind while you boys went out to play. It gave me an opportunity to have a quiet siesta for a change - with my high-octane lifestyle a nap in the afternoon is a must and it's not always possible with you-know-who nattering on ... and on ... and on ...

hi, hippolyta. you say the sweetest things!

after the trauma of the stocks at bodiam castle, i could have done with a siesta myself!

next time we must arrange things more congenially...

=(;o})

Oh dear. It sounds as if your budding romance with Hippolyta hasn't got anywhere, Buttons - or perhaps she just didn't fancy getting her bottom muddy.

If I were you, I'd start working on B & D - and Roger and Sheila to let her go with you to Greece.

SharonM - that's a brilliant idea!

I've got my Louis Vuitton luggage out and am ready to holiday - I'm just awaiting the call ...

Come on, Buttons! Is the Metropolitan Orthodox? Can a fish swim? The challenge is to keep her off the bar and away from any karaoke machines after she's had what she refers to as a "tiny snifter".

On the other hand, if you're looking for an interesting travelling companion who can give you lots of information about lots of different things, look no further than your favourite cousin ...

[I would have sent you a longer message, but Sheila is trying to use this computer to write a sermon]

i'm thinking of giving my ticket to bodge the bear this year...

I shouldn't imagine Bodge will be allowed to go in your place. After all, compared to you he must be an absolute novice as a photographer's model.

And as for Buttons Hippo going with you instead of Hippolyta, chances are he would lead you into so much mischief that the four of you would end up in some Greecian clink.
