goodbye kitty!

when we went to brighton the other week, i was about to go for a quick spin in – or, rather on – a rather jolly pink-and-red car until i realised that the driver simply wasn't looking where she was going...

Look out, Kitty!

Typical cat!

Hippolyta says that if you will get into a strange car with a pink-clad floozy, what do you expect? And, if you decide to cavort with strange-looking kittens after all you said to her last week, you shouldn't expect her to speak to you again for a while ... in fact, words fail her (if only!)

perhaps you could try explaining (some hope, I guess) that this was a joke! we were on the pier, inside the arcade, the 'pink-clad floozy' was plastic (made in japan!) and the car didn't go anywhere except up and down a bit and then only if you put in 20 pence to make it work!

Well, even if it was a joke, I think we might be interested in what transpired between THE Buttons and Hippolyta on their Day at the Races!

Actually, SharonM, owing to a little misunderstanding with the Ascot Stewards a couple of years ago, I'm not allowed to go to the Racecourse. As for what transpired after the Races this year ... I'm too much of a lady to say and this excursion with the pink floozy (plastic or otherwise) shows that Buttons was too much of a "gentleman" to remember. (However, thanks to the bouquet, Buttons, all is forgiven)

hippolyta – i'm so glad sheila passed on the bouquet. i was a bit worried that she would think david and brian had sent it to her and we'd have another misunderstanding on our paws. phew!

p.s.: i call them paws, what do hippos call theirs?

Why, hippaws, of course!

Buttons, Well, yes, but once I'd explained, it was OK.

SharonM, Buttons H says they're hooves as hippos are closely related to horses and if you have a day or two to spare, give him a call and he'll fascinate you with his famous lecture "Hippos: their anatomy, physiology and behaviour". If I were you, I wouldn't take up this offer as boring is too polite a word to describe it ...

On the other hand, it may cure my insomnia...
