sigh

gosh it's been quiet on my blog...

i was about to break the silence and post the (i thought) happy news that i would be joined on my annual holiday in greece by hippolyta, the diva of ascot, but have just heard that the accommodation favoured by h's 'people' don't allow hippos...

this is particularly sad as i had hoped i'd be able to share the balmy evenings of early september with h while brian and roger regaled locals and tourists alike with their amusing rendition of 'mud, mud, glorious mud'...

h, i am sure, is devastated.

oh, well, maybe another year...

Buttons! I have missed you!

That is a dreadful disappointment for you, I am sure. Any establishment that won't allow hippos, well, really...

(Wish I could hear Brian and Roger doing "Mud, mud, glorious mud" -- I'm sure that's one for the ages.)

Well, right, here’s the thing. Here’s what it is then, right…

The apartment: I got my people (your cousin Buttons Hippo) to speak to their people (though their people don’t seem to entirely understand Buttons H’s Greek – what’s not to understand?) and they now know that if they don’t come round to my view which is if I want to stay in their little apartment on the beach so I can have some quality time with my favourite rabbit and they don’t want me to, then they will have to go whistle. So that’s all good then!

Watch this space … way to go!!

hi, h,

my ears (which were rather more down than usual) have perked up slightly at hearing this, but am anxious (knowing the difficulties of anyone – let alone anyone greek – accurately understanding buttons hippo) in case they don't care to 'go whistle'.

i will just have to hope for the best...

bxx

ps: by the way, you don't happen to be distantly related to that siobhan in the tv show, 2012, do you? just wondered...

Beth, you want to be careful what you wish for! I once joked "I've emptied bigger rooms than this". My dear wife added "He's emptied bigger islands..." One year, goats were seen jumping off the jetty in to the sea. I thought it was a chemical-free equivalent of sheep dip but "friends" said they'd heard I was going to sing & were swimming to the next island.
I think Hippolyta is represented by Perfect Curve.

Buttons - that sounds familiar...

Anyway, WELCOME BACK TO BLOGSVILLE! You've certainly been missed over the past few months.

I'm glad to hear that your Kalymnotic trysts with Hippolyta might be possible after all. Who knows, maybe you'll create your own little regular army of hippopotami/bunnies.
