almost a month since we left greece and the tedium of coming autumn, leaves me with nothing to but fall back on but happy memories...

This picture chokes me up ...
However, there is a chance that we may meet soon in more glamorous surroundings, n'est-ce pas??
Apart from the pleasure of time spent together, it will be an opportunity to hear a lecture by you-know-who on "Jane Austen - her life, loves and hippos, with particular reference to her 1813 expedition up the Limpopo and its influence on her later writing" (yawn).
a house party at your folks' country estate? is that where mellors works as gamekeeper?
i'm looking forward to it very much and we can always snooze and dream of sunny days in hellas while you-know-who expounds on ms austen. by the way, is it true his middle name is 'darcy'
...while we are there, dear, if there is anything you need ("more bolly, darling?")just ring the bell and Buttons Hippo will come running up from the servants' quarters as fast as his little legs can carry him. Darcy? no, i think it is Collins. Hx
PS - The game-keeper is a Mellors, but not our Mellors H, he's a cousin.
Mellors H says that his cousin's leisure pursuits are not following Millwall Football Club and watching crime thrillers on the TV, but are more fundamental (whatever that means).

you'd better steer well clear of the hot house then...
Indeed, when Buttons and Hippolyta are reunited they may well need cooling off... eventually.
