last evening we were at gran teatro fenice for the concerto di capodanno... naturally hippolyta joined in most of the arias but, fortunately, there were no complaints and she is hopeful that it might have served as an audition for future concerts – only time will tell...

You're spoiling that hippo! She will be even more of a diva than ever when she gets home. Fortunately I should be with you next time, so it will be more fun for you and you won't have to spend all your time with her and the oldies. There's so much I could share with you about Venetian history and culture - you've missed a real treat this Christmas...
