homeward bound

so our christmas and new year holiday is at an end and hippolyta and i will soon be heading homeward...

here we are on the roof terrace of our apartment with a little waif and stray we've adopted from the san marco abandoned hippo pound. wonder how he'll take to life in england? h and i will raise him together, turn and turn about. i'm sure he'll have warm welcome at the ascot hippodrome...

Oh, dear. Before Hippolyta went off on your little jaunt, I had The Talk with her about the hazards of picking up strange companions on holiday (no offence meant, of course).

I do hope she has remembered all I told her about behaving like a lady: though from your photos, it rather looks as though she may have forgotten some of my strictures.

And I hope her new companion will be a suitable member of our little household, although I'm sure your household would benefit from having a hippo around to raise the tone, so maybe you could play the major role in raising him? Just a thought ...

I thought the UK Govt was cracking down on Hippo trafficking. Also do we need to adopt hippos from abroad with so many needy ones here? We've already had one insinuating itself into the Hippodrome at Xmas disguised as a microwaveable heated pad for aches and pains.
