racing rabbit

Race-goers
last friday, brian and david went racing with roger and sheila at ascot and i went along too thanks to a special admission badge made for me by roger which, happily, totally fooled the bowler-hatted ushers!

ascot mascot
racehorses, it turns out, are big and this statue of a horse's head was bigger than most real horses: that's me just under its nose...

on the nose
brian and david were very stingy and wouldn't give me any pocket money to bet so i came home with nothing. still, the horses they bet on didn't run as well as they expected and they came home with less than nothing!

What nice photos - and good to see that David (suit) and Brian (tie)were colour-coordinated to match your outfit.

Maybe next time D & B will let you choose the horses.

I could have given you some hot tips: I'm very good at choosing winners, but I don't tell anyone which one to back until after the race to as not to spoil the surprise. Sorry we didn't have a chance to chat on Friday, but I thought it was best not to disturb your tĂȘte-a-tĂȘte with Hippolyta...

yes, sharon, i insisted that they follow my dress code.

if there had been a horse called karrits i would have taken that as an omen and insisted that d & b put a bet on it, but they all had very silly names.

hi, coz! actually brian was following your system and i thought david was going to smack him one, so it's as well you both weren't there. brian decided after one race had started that they ought to have backed a horse called titus (for some obscure literary reason that i've forgotten); needless to say it was all too late and, of course, it won...

hippolyta was very cordial but i think she is rather suspicious about the various developments that occurred which prevented her from joining us in greece.
