patients are a virtue

hospitals are really weird places full of not altogether agreeable smells and far too much noise in the night...


of course, i had to go along just to keep an eye on him but i'm glad to be home again.

winter warmer

i'm fed up with all this cold! i wouldn't mind so much if it snowed and was done with it - then i could go out and build a snow-rabbit or something, but all we get is a flurry of flakes and then a load of drizzle! it's rubbish, frankly, so i thought i'd post a couple more photos from my visit to greece last year.


this is the erectheum on the acropolis in athens and the bit with the stone women is called the porch of maidens. good job they're made of stone, if you ask me, otherwise holding up all that stuff with their heads would be pretty painful!


and this is me sitting on an obelisk-type thingy - unfortunately it's lost its head, but still has its thingy --- or nearly all of it!!

bunny ha ha

here's my mate bodge and me doing our bit for red nose day - or, in my case, red ears day...


and here's what I call a jolly good joke...

buttons went into a general store in the countryside: "do you have any carrots?" 
he asked and the man behind the counter said: "no, sorry, we don't have any."


so buttons went away, but the next morning he came back and once again asked: "do you have any carrots?" and, again, the shopkeeper told him: "no, sorry, we don't have any." 


buttons kept doing this for a whole week and eventually the shopkeeper began to get really fed up with having a rabbit coming in every morning and asking for carrots, so he said to buttons: "now look here, we don't sell any carrots here and if you ask for carrots just one more time, I'm going to nail you to the wall by your ears!"

buttons stood still for a while and then went away. 


the next morning buttons came into the shop again, and this time he asked: "do you have any nails?" 


the man behind the counter was a bit confused by this, but replied: "no, I just run out of nails, sorry little fella." 


"well then," said buttons with a laugh, "do you have any carrots?"

hehehehehehehehehehe!

big ben small bunny

having watched 'peter pan' the other day, i popped down to big ben (where the charaters stopped off in the film) to see if any fairies happened to come by with the necessary pixiedust to make me fly...


i saw brian but he didn't have any pixiedust...

the bunny who wouldn't grow up

i spent an amusing couple of days tagging along with brian while he was helping launch the new dvd release of walt disney's 'peter pan', which was based on the play by j m barrie and which, as you probably know, is all about about pirates and pixies and other fantastical stuff...

we were in a big house in london which was got up to look as if it was the home of the darling family in the story with lots of pictures and knick-knacks everywhere...

i hung around for quite a while hoping i might get a few hints on how to fly but basically ended-up spending a lot of time listening to brian showing off how much he knew about the play and the film and anything else he could think of! pretty boring, really, and i envied the journalists who - unlike me - only had to listen to him for about ten minutes at a time!


luckily i did get to meet two of my very favourite people: the gorgeous kathryn beaumont who was the original voice of wendy in the movie...


...and her adorable fun-to-be-with hubby, allan levine...


i also had a bizarre encounter with captain hook who said he was going to make me walk the plank - of course i played along with his fantasy just to humour him though i was sorely tempted to point out that the 'plank' in question was only painted on a bit of scenery... anyway he eventually decided to pardon me and offered me the job of bosun which, naturally, i politely declined.


rather regrettably, brian engaged in a bit of embarrassing tomfoolery with the captain and his side-kick, mr smee, and (not for the first time in my life) i was forced to pretend that he wasn't with me...

tea for three

i went on a bit of a jaunt today - not one of my usual, globe-hopping adventures, but something a bit more sedate: brian and david were given a christmas present of a tour of london's theatreland which they just got round to going on... the talky stuff (by a nice young, knowledgeable man called paul) was very informative - though i could have done with a bit more about theatrical rabbits - and it ended up with a rather spiffing tea at the savoy hotel... posh or what?!


as you can see, i tucked in best i could (the other two gobbled most of it!) and then gave the patrons a little entertainment on the very piano which a famous american called gershwin used to play when he went to the savoy...

naturally, I played a selection of my own that included 'run rabbit run', 'funny little bunnies' and 'bright eyes' and finished off with a few bars of jefferson airplane's 'white rabbit'


yes, i know i look as if i'm facing the wrong way, but this was when i turned round to acknowledge the thunderous applause!

ring kings

some peopel think i'm just a world traveller, but i am also a worlds traveller, as can be seen from this picture of me doing a bit of sight-seeing in the middle-earth capital, minas tirith...


actually, what i just said was a big fat fib: this photo was taken in new zealand and i was on one of the sets for a little movie called the lord of the rings... but you knew that, didn't you?!

in paris, i went to an exhibition all about the cartoon character tin tin and there were so many question marks, exclamation marks and asterisks that, by the end, i began to feel as if i was living in a cartoon strip my self...

maybe i should get used to it, as no doubt when i am internationally (as opposed to nationally) famous i will be the subject of many graphic novels, movies, computer games and suchlike things...

is he in india now, you ask... no, it's that much-loved watering hole that was once known as brighthelmstone or brighton.

whenever i get a bit bored with all my globe-trotting and even as sophisticated a traveller as me gets a bit jaded at time, i take a trip to brighton and enjoy the pavilion and the pier and the many other pleasures of that resort...

what an eye-full!

halloween horror: mr bela lugosi (better known as count dracula) makes a - fortunately unsuccessful - grab for me in the hollywood wax museum...

...i've never met anyone wearing green carrots in their hair before - no wonder everyone takes her picture!

i've always been a bit stage-struck, but there aren't many roles for rabbits... there's the lead in harvey, of course, but since he's invisible that's not really a part that's going to get you noticed...

i did a short summer season in brighton with mr punch and mrs judy - a very famous husband and wife theatrical team, but frankly it was a nightmare: mr punch braining everyone with his stick, a control freak of a copper who kept clobbering everyone in sight with his truncheon...


there was also a ghastly baby who kept yelling and screaming (which wasn't too surprising since mr punch kept tossing him off the stage), sausages for dinner every single day and a very scary crocodile - heaven knows what was a cocodile was doing in brighton - who kept sneaking up behind members of the cast and putting his great toothy jaws round their heads... It was very unnerving - especially as he'd obviously never heard of mouthwash...

rabbit hunting

on one of our visits to disneyland, i gave brian the slip and hung around outside this door, hoping to be discovered by one of mr disney's people...

ok, you may laugh and so i didn't exactly become the new movie sensation, but let's not forget that disney's first mega star (long before mickey mouse came on the scene) was a character called oswald the lucky rabbit...

admittedly ozzie's completely forgotten and pretty much washed up today (living in a run-down retirement home in florida), and obviously not quite as lucky as his name suggests...

but just think of all those other disney rabbits...

i mean, there was brer rabbit and roger rabbit and thumper and... er... well, mrs thumper --- and all the little thumper kids...

...and the white rabbit who gave such an amazing performance in that really scary film alice in wonderland, where he kept being chased everywhere by this huge blonde-haired girl in a blue dress...

as the sign on the casting agency door says, it takes people to make the dream a reality, but in the case of alice in wonderland it took a rabbit to make the dream a nightmare...

i popped round mr w rabbit's house to say how much i liked his performance, but he was out --- still being chased by whatshername, i suppose...


...anyway, eventually i found a statue that they'd put up to him to him in the park - which really shows how amazingly important rabbits are to disney - and so I had my picture taken alongside...

...and in case you were wondering, he's the one with the ridiculously large watch and i'm the one with the mauve paws!
